This series comprises 156 black and white and color photographs of four deaconess conferences held by the Deaconess Community of the Lutheran Church in America. Represented in these photograph are conferences held in 1968, 1971, 1973, and 1978. Most of the photographs are either unidentified or partly identified. There are group portraits as well as candid shots taken during plenary sessions, worship services, discussion groups, and mealtimes. Also in this collection are two contact sheets with unidentified and undated images from a deaconess conference.
